Welcome back to another exciting season of your Houston Texans and their campaign for a Super Bowl Championship.  Many have doubted, but this 2017 Season has set itself up to a memorable if only for the Off-Season transactions that have improved the current roster of athletes and of course a healthy Defensive End Mr. JJ Watt.

Last week the Houston Texans traveled to Bank of America Stadium to battle the Carolina Panthers on August 9th, 2017.  As one of three on the roster, Tom Savage fought hard at Quarterback with his time at the helm.  Before his exit, Savage competed 9 of 11 passes (81.8%) for a glimmer of hope for the 4th year Texan needing to prove his resilience in a upcoming battle at quarterback.

The first round rookie draft pick Deshaun Watson took over the wheel of the offense after Savage’s 13 Play, 75 yard scoring drive in the 2nd Quarter.  At the end of Watson’s time leading the offense, he completed 15 out of 25 passes (60%) for 179 yards and a 81.9 passer rating.  Watson’s time included two scoring drives including a 75 yard drive concluded by a 15 yard TD run.

In addition, rookie running back D’Onta Foreman contributed and led the team with his nine carries for 76 rushing yards. (8.4 avg.)  The Houston Texans fall to the Carolina Panthers 27 to 17 in the first matchup of the preseason.  Next week the Texans come home to NRG Stadium to compete against the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots Saturday, August 19, 2017.
